Sir,
I am instructed by the Director of the War Trade Department to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 11th instant, No. 17106, in which you transmitted a copy of a telegram received from the Governor of Hong Kong with regard to the proposed shipment to Yokohama, Tamsui, San Francisco, Manila and Bangkok respectively of consignments of Tallow, Peanut Oil and Wood Oil.
With regard to the consignment of Tallow, I am to state for Mr. Bonar Law's information that Lord Emmott is of opinion that permission to export should not be granted and I am to add that this Department has no objection to the export of the remaining consignments.
